Our approach

A clear plan.
A considered home.

Good decisions build on one another. Begin with the way you live, develop a shared direction and keep the important details visible as the project takes shape.

01

Understand the home

Bring current photos, an approximate layout and a short list of frustrations. Discuss the spaces involved, what should stay, the intended investment and any timing constraints.

The aim of this stage

A clear starting brief

  • Rooms and priorities
  • Existing conditions to investigate
  • Budget and timing discussion
02

Shape the direction

Explore a direction for the room, compare the possible scope and identify decisions that depend on measurements or a specialist’s assessment. Agree which ideas belong in this phase.

The aim of this stage

An agreed design direction

  • Layout priorities
  • Reference images and finish palette
  • Decisions still to be resolved
03

Define the work

Record inclusions, exclusions, selections and open allowances. Before construction, confirm the responsible professionals, project-specific permits and written terms for the proposed work.

The aim of this stage

A documented scope

  • Selections and responsibilities
  • Written scope and exclusions
  • Schedule and change process
04

Review the details

Use the agreed scope to review progress and discuss changes before they are made. At completion, review outstanding items and collect relevant product care and warranty information.

The aim of this stage

A considered handover

  • Agreed changes in writing
  • Completion review and open items
  • Care information for selected products

This is a planning framework. Deliverables, responsibilities and construction arrangements are established in the written agreement for each project.

Before you begin

A few practical
questions.

Where should I start?

Start with the rooms you want to change and three things you would like them to do better. Current photos and a few reference images are useful. The project brief builder helps you organize those details before a conversation.

Can the work be planned in phases?

Phasing can be explored when the full scope is understood. Some tasks are linked by access, shared services or finish continuity. Discuss what should happen together before deciding on separate phases.

How are cost and timing established?

They depend on the agreed scope, the property’s condition, selections, availability and the professionals involved. Ask for a written proposal with inclusions, exclusions, allowances and timing before committing to work.

Are the design studies completed client projects?

The design studies are illustrative proposals using reference photography. They explain possible layouts, materials and project decisions; they are not presented as completed Mistral Mari client work.

Will my project need permits?

Requirements depend on the property, location and work involved. Confirm applicable building or trade permits and inspections with the responsible local authority before the scope is finalized.

What should be confirmed before construction?

Confirm the contracting business’s legal name, current license details, insurance and written scope. Keep the selections, exclusions, schedule, payment terms and change process together in writing.
